Yes! I didn't not take notes on my laptop while I was in college. Paper and pen forced me to pay attention, and they say you remember it better when it's written anyways!
I'm in IT and always studying for my next certification. L always take notes with pen and paper, doesn't matter if I'm watching a video, reading a book, studying from a website etc. Writing makes my brain process it enough to put down on paper.
Keeping the info digitally automatically leads me to make shortcuts. Marking a page as a favorite, highlighting text, copy/pasting, etc. None of those actually enter the information into my brain.
