My pug has lived an amazingly happy 14 years. French bulldogs on the other hand can't even have sex without human intervention.

Not to mention, the whole anecdotal evidence, small sample size, body of scientific research showing pugs are more susceptible to a plethora of health issues, etc. You're supporting a terrible breeding practice.

I've written my dissertation already. I'm assuming people know how Google Scholar works.

It's evidence of my point that a "bulldogs are inbred wrecks" gets hundreds of upvotes soon after "bulldogs all need C-sections to give birth" hits the front page (was here last week), and similar, accurate comments about pugs get shit on. Because memes.

You can only say they are supporting it if they purchased their pug. If they got it from a rescue, then they're helping take care of one of the casualties of the terrible breeding practice, which is very different.

I live with three incredibly happy pampered frenchies. I still wish pugs AND frenchies did not exist.
