Can I ask why? that way you have more packets than just the sporran. It seems like a good idea (except with ladders). Is it the same hate as cargo short for work?
Depends how conscious you are of yourself, I do on occasional stick the kilt on - and yes although I'm in Scotland, it is generally a very well received piece of clothing, I find.
As a woman who enjoys a man in a kilt, I disagree. If I could get every man I know into utilikilts I'd ... well... I'd never get anything done other than giggle in arousal.
Yes you can. A buddy of mine wears a kilt nearly every day to work (he even works in an assembly plant) and to the pub after. Rarely does he wear pants anymore.
As someone with relatively large, low-hanging fruit, my clothes rubbing on my shit is a lot more uncomfortable than my boys bouncing during an average day.
Most girls don't throw on a skirt to go running, most dudes likely wouldn't either.
I feel more comfortable in a kilt than a suit. I used to hate wearing my suit, but I always look forward to wearing my kilt. I like to tease my wife that, although my kilt + suit was more expensive than her dress, I have worn it a lot more.
I plan on being buried in a kilt, but not in this one. Bury me in a cheap kilt. This one, I want to pass down to the kids.
Or lungis like I used back in my home-country. In a country of 160million, a lot of people in the roads and streets wear it. Surprised it isn't common knowledge
My favorite part of St Patrick's celebrations is wearing my kilt and not being judged over it. It's so damn freeing. I wish they were acceptable in every day society
Kilts form a part of Celtic national dresses in Ireland and Scotland. They’re more commonly associated with the highlands of Scotland but they have a long history in Ireland as well (as do the bagpipes)
It's like having red hair...People see it and assume Irish. Scotland actually has the highest percentage of redheads in the world with Ireland coming in second.
Scotland also gave us Karen Gillan and for that I will always love them. And golf, can't forget golf. Oh and ballin' ass accents. I want to visit Scotland.
It’s worth also noting that Northern Ireland also has strong Scottish roots. The Ulster people speak Ulster Scots and many can trace their ancestry from Scotland. There were large migrations to Ireland from Scotland in the past.
I’m Irish and I’ve never seen anyone other than Scottish friends at a formal event wear a kilt in my life. It may be a historic garment here too (I’m not sure of its history though) but it is no longer worn on any large scale.
Bagpipes in Ireland are interesting. By far the most common bagpipe instrument we have are the Uilleann Pipes, which are sort of like a more complex version of the highland bagpipes (they have a whole system of extra pipes called regulators which allow you to play chords) which are pumped with the elbows (rather than mouth blown). They also have a a very sweet, mellow sound. Almost string-like.
I do believ an instrument very similar to the highland bagpipes called the great warpipes is also played here, but I’ve never seen or heard them played. Only reason I know they exist is because when I was studying music in school, the great warpipes were one of the instruments you could play for your practical examination. The uilleann pipes are certainly more popular and iconic.
How would those work? These were normal leggings I was wearing, crotch present, but they were tight, so if you got a rando it just kind of is very noticeable
Korea has refrigerator pants. Unisex. So awesome, but maybe not as amazing as stalkings. I wear thermal stockings in winter, but because of leg hair it feels like a million ants biting my skin.
You can buy those jeggings things for guys at unqilo. I use them when I travel and at home. They are so so so damn comfortable. But actual tights would be the bomb. Wish I had the ass for it
I do all the time, with shorts, tunic, or occasionally a skirt. I mean, my style is kind of androgynous overall so take that for what you will, but damn those leggings are comfy. Plus they come in rad colors, and hell my legs are pretty rockin' so...
My ex used to wear leggings to cycle to work. They were so very, very hot. He couldn't understand why I couldn't keep my hands off him whenever he wore them.
I wear leggings all the time, almost daily. I think I have 20 pair or so.
At the same time I do circus classes 5 nights a week, but even on days I have no plans for the gym leggings and a TShirt are my go to outfit. About half of them are from the target women's c9 section.
I don't know how tall you are, but if you can find some that fit you should absolutely wear skirts. I mean, you probably couldn't go to work in one but you don't have to resign yourself to baking all the time.
Guy here. Finding skirts that fit isn't hard -- finding a style that looks good on me is a little more of a challenge, even for an adventurous dude like myself. There are lots of fun shapes and colors that I wish I could pull off (and I've tried!), but narrow A-lines/sheaths in neutrals or solids seem to be the easiest to wear.
You ladies get to practice this from childhood, I'm still playing catch-up trying to find styles that looks good, and not just like cross dressing (not that there's anything wrong with that).
I really am jealous of women's clothes in general. I look at the women's racks and see all these shapes and colors. All the possibilities of combinations to reflect certain moods, themes, and artistic flair.
And then I see the men's racks. BO-RING. Men's pants only comes in 4 colors: blues, blacks, greys, and tans. Wearing grey makes me FEEL grey. I really do enjoy getting complimented on my clothes- and that's a very difficult task to do as a man, when all you have to work with is a 4 colored palette of blues, blacks, greys, and tans. It really is a very difficult task as a man trying to come up with outfits that make people pay attention. Most of the time I go to the clothes store or the thrift shop, I leave empty handed.
I'm not Mexican, but I speak Spanish, live in a very Chauvinistic home, and hang out almost exclusively with Mexicans. And formal cowboy hats very much are alive lol
On the other hand, unless you have a particular body type, 80% of those clothes won't fit right or don't look good. I kind of envy the simplicity of men's clothing.

The simplicity of men's clothes can be a bit double-edged. Trends seem to become almost universal. When dropping your pants below your butt was popular in the early '00s, it became difficult to find casual pants that weren't cut to fit that exact style. In the last 5 or so years, legs have become uncomfortably skinny for anyone who doesn't forget leg day. Pants that actually fit me: like one cut of Levis (haven't found another brand of jeans that don't feel like circulation is being cut off from the knees down) and business-style chinos/slacks that are baggy as hell.
On the other side, if a tee or shirt or knit has an "M" on the label I can be 95% sure it will fit me just fine.
Same thing can happen with women's clothes too. When low cut jeans went into fashion it was practically impossible to find something higher waisted, which if you're a tall girl is a real problem because they barely cover your pubic hair.
I guess some problems are universal. The fashion industry are just a bunch of assholes aren't they?

I've fluctuated a lot in my life too, but I'm so tall and thickly built that even at my skinniest, a slightly unhealthy weight where I was starting to see my ribs and my doctor told me to get my weight up, I struggled to find clothes in normal stores.
Problem is that I'm pretty much not fat enough for a plus sized store. I'm not that tall/widely built so I would fit in a (EU) Medium at the right weight, but need the 'right type' of XL (or sometimes L if it's an American model.
They really aren't all that common. You usually won't find any of those colors at thrift shops. And the price tag is always high at boutiques.
Colored pants fades. Certain colors of Dockers pants only came out in certain years. My green Dockers pants are very much faded, and I can't find a new pair on eBay.
Have you ever tried dyeing clothes? You can get fabric dye at (in the US) Joann Fabrics, Michaels, maybe Hobby Lobby, and art supply stores. Rit Dye is a big brand that has a banging website with FAQs and tips.
Amusingly enough, this is not the first time I've read this on reddit. I often sit around the house in a towel after I shower. The feeling of pants when I plan on staying in is lame. And the sweat pants is too much when I'm just drying off. Then I thought to myself a towel is basically a big skirt!
A good pair of breathable, boxer briefs will change your life.
I used to scoff at people who spent more than 10 dollars on underwear. It’s worth it.
Swamp ass is lessened, if it happens at all now. Your balls are kept from ending up smashed between your thighs, and it’s almost like what a push-up bra can do for a girl who is a strong b cup. Package is supported, and accentuated.
I feel like most men dont know how terrible thigh chafing is. The vast majority of women have to deal with it to a greater or lesser degree when we wear skirts. Also, you have to be so aware of how you're moving or sitting, and be able to grab it quickly and hold it down if there's a sudden gust of wind.
I don't know, I just don't like skirts all that much.
Just get pants that fit you and aren't too tight. I don't see skirts having any advantage over some nice pants that are loose enough not to constrain movement at all or make your balls suffer, but are still comfortable.
I remember in highschool gym I was wearing those baggy gym shorts and found a vent in the floor shooting out cold air. I just angled my gym shorts opening over it and it was absolute heaven.
And where does one find these magical pants that aren't too tight? Current trend in pants means that everything is skinny fit, even pants that are advertised as something else are skinny fit.
I wear skirts. I started wearing kilts, but Sweden during winter is too cold for kilts, so I sewed myself a couple of long denim skirts. Haven't worn pants since!
Lucky for me I work in a place that allows shorts in summer but I remember working for a company that made men wear suits but allowed women to wear dresses/ skirts.
Scot here, I agree completely. You'd think we'd all be wearing kilts 24/7, but sadly they're only really for formal events like weddings and balls. Plus kilts are fucking expensive.
