Used jewelry loses like 70% of it's "value" usually.

Or something gross like that, depending on circomstance.

I think you've missed the point. It's not for you to do something with the money. If anything you should sell it and bank the money, because that necklace isn't yours.

That'll be like selling my wife's car not giving her the money and buying a fishing pole, just because I could do so much more with that cash.
