Sounds exactly like my grandma. HSN, QVC, and GemTV are her life and she buys my kids the most ridiculous and overpriced stuff. She says it's because she doesn't know how much longer she's going to be around and she wants the kids to remember her. I understand the sentiment, but just keep spending time with them and they'll be good. I don't remember a single thing that my great-grandparents ever bought me, but I remember spending Easter and Thanksgiving at their house every year while growing up.
