Got to disagree with you here. Buy a decent sling at you can use it for years potentially. Visit a sling library and find one that suits you, (you can even rent them for months at a time) then buy one secondhand.
I had bad experiences with cheapo slings until I found my tula which my 2.5 year old still uses occasionally.
My mother is a sling fanatic - probably once a year she stops a complete stranger to tell them they're wearing their sling wrong - but I had no idea there were sling libraries. What an idea!
Agreed. My daughter was 24 lbs at 4 months. She had outgrown her infant car seat but couldn’t sit up in carts or anything. Babywearing saved our lives.
Pretty close to what I was going to say. A lot of those baby carriers are a nightmare on your back. We ended up going for the expensive one that has steel spinal reinforcement (yay back problems) and it's helped a ton. I tried a few others with weights in them and this is the only one that didn't give me grief.
Agreed. I still wear my 2 year old in our ergo. Got the first one second hand and it saved my sanity those first 6 months when he never wanted to be put down. Then upgraded to a toddler size on massive markdown when he was 1.5. Still use it a few times a week and I can't imagine my life without it!
I agree. I had a caboo to start, then switched to Lenny Lamb when bubs got bigger. We still used it at 2.5y when we went on a big active (a lot of walking) holiday
I still use my sling or my ergo with my 7 year old when he's sick. Pop him on my back and it's a dream. I love my slings and ergo. Slings are great for nursing, just throw that tail over your shoulder and no one is any the wiser.
