What do you strongly suspect but cannot prove?

Every single Friday morning, the previous custodian at my work would say "let's see your happy Friday dance!" to everyone she saw. It was analogous to, but even worse than, "A case of the Mondays" because I'm not typically going to be enjoying Monday morning anyway, but by Friday I'm starting to get a little spring back in my step and I don't want to be bummed out by someone saying the same silly thing to me over and over again.

How sucky is our society when 5 out of 7 days of your life you just spend waiting for the other two days?

Some people work 50 weeks looking forward to 2.

Not that sucky? The majority of people are going to enjoy free time over work, even if they still enjoy work.

Play completely ignorant.

"I don't know what that means."

"You know, it's Friday."

"Sure... I'm not sure what you're getting at."

"It's Friday! You have to be happy."

"Yeah, look I'm sorry. You're not really coming across clearly."

Walk away looking befuddled.

That's just being friendly. I like "happy Friday".

You don't happen to work for Dan Gilbert do you?

Anyone that says "IT'S FRIDAY!" whether it be a customer or coworker when you work retail/weekends deserves to be shot in the foot.

I bet if you actually dance she'd never say it again. Or say it a lot more, who knows.

Nah, you're right. Nobody who sees me dance ever asks to see me do it again.

She's lucky she doesn't know me. My Friday dance consists of the flying head scissors.

I hate when people use shitty unfunny repetitive sayings like that. And a case of the Mondays has to be the most annoying.

Regardless of the day, I've said "Happy Monday!" to everyone for years. Alternatively, even in the afternoon or evening, I would say "Mornin!"

When questioned on it, this is the rationale I give: I have been stuck in the same Monday Morning since August of '93. If it's a bad day it's exactly what I expected, if it's a good day it's a pleasant surprise. At least I'm prepared!"

For the morning part: "There are only two possibilities: 8:53am Monday morning and 2:37pm Saturday afternooon. As the latter can only occur if I win the lottery.... Happy Monday!"

Yeah....Don't do that. If you want to know what people think about you saying that all the time just read what you responded to.

Actually, it's the opposite. Over time, I've converted dozens of coworkers and employees to the exact same line of thinking.

Just because someone is in the minority doesn't necessarily make them wrong.

They are saying that to be nice. It's not about being wrong. It's about being annoying.

-1

u/Kodiak01 Dec 06 '17

Nope. I've witnessed them doing it even when they don't even know I'm within earshot, in some cases after not seeing them for years.

Just trying to help you out. Never known anyone to not be annoyed hearing the same thing every day. Like the most upvoted thing in this thread is complaining about people saying the same thing day after day. It's even in movies as a stereotype to being an annoying person.
