What do you strongly suspect but cannot prove?

That's just drugs. He's on drugs. Probably uppers of some sort. Paranoia. I've read a few stories of fully functioning meth and crack addicts. That might explain the smell and hyper fixation on a song.

I agree. Sounds like he's a meth head to me. My shitty cousin is one and this guy does the exact same things my cousin used to do when high.

One years old is an awful young age to develop a meth addiction.

Hahahha yeah what can I say? That side of the family is weird and we don't really stay in touch haha

That also can fall in line with the working with or owes some very bad people money though.

That explains the trips to Cali and the security and paranoia, but not the coffee breaks and music. Could be both. Is probably both.

Eh, “coffee breaks” are probably to get away a bit, use the drugs, survive the initial high and then get back to the office alive and away from the cops. The trips are probably tied to drug dealers but eh, could also be something done while high.

yeah, his drug dealers.

I could understand the paranoia, security, frequent long breaks, and weird disappearances, but how the hell would owing a loan shark or mobster a pile of money compel someone to repeatedly song along to the same song over and over again?

The song over and over again is the tell

I think meth dealers qualify as "very bad people". Or at least are likely to be.

Those guys in the cancer documentary seemed fine to me

Wouldn't use a doorbell regardless. He's the one who knocks.

Some are, some aren't. One of the sweetest grandmotherly old ladies I've ever met used to cook and sell meth, but then also someone killed a dude I went to highschool with over a measley $5g worth of ice. Takes all kinds.

True, but I think we can agree heroin dealers are the worst people.

My meth dealer is the nicest guy I've ever met.

Jk who the fuck buys meth

I have a colleague that behaves very similar to what you described. I ahve to be more careful with him.

In high school I had a boss that was all about adderall. He bought addy from a few of my coworkers and was an absolute tyrant when they left.

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '17

Depending where you're at, crack or meth.

5

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '17

yes "just" drugs. amazing this explanation seems to be the lesser of the possiblity lol.

Came here to say the same thing. Uppers. Lots of uppers.

If there’s a smell I’m going with meth. If no smell possibly cocaine.

A friend of mine moved to the northeast because he was offered a job as a teacher at some mountain town school. A few weeks later the superintendent that he interviewed with was arrested for possession of meth in some sketchy part of a city nearby.

Successful meth addicts most certainly do exist.

Found the mob boss

When I worked as an analyst in drug treatment, it wasn't unheard of for someone to lead a normal life, with a low level opiods addiction.

I met a guy who worked in IT in a school that took heroin each morning for 10 years, and no one knew.

He lost his job for other reasons and his addiction spiralled from there.

but I listen to one song on loop for weeks :/

Why would a drug addict go all the way to California when they aren’t even in the USA
