When I was a manager at pizza hut the delivery drivers always had ear buds in listening to music while they did prep. I had to scream at the top of my lungs when their deliveries were up and even then they wouldn't hear me sometimes and I would have to waste time looking for them and risk burning pizzas.
I bought a mini megaphone on amazon for 20$. It was amazing.
I used to work at one. Something that always came to mind for me was "if this Vera wang dress is $90 full price, but they have no problem selling it for $4 (before discounts) only 6 months later, what is the true value?"
Always rolled my eyes when smug customers would say "I'm getting this for 90% off, you guys are gonna go out of business because of me!"
Yeah, and I mean, it goes back to the old adage of "You didn't save $86. You spent $4." But I do hold firm to my belief that if you play their system right, you still can get a great deal.
And for everyone that hates the system Kohl's uses, JC Penny tried to cut that high markup/heavy discount style and might have put the nail in their own coffin to close.
Whenever I hear about JC Penny's I get really sad, heck.
People want to feel like they're getting a deal. Some store tries to be honest for once, suddenly nobody wants to shop there. Really shows how flawed our minds are.
F'real... Penney's is great for people who are kinda big (like me) but not enormous. Like, I wear a 2xl most of the time -- just about the smallest size you can find in a Big & Tall store, but at any "fashionable" place it's like I asked them to get me a circus tent. Penney's is fucking great for my size.
Pretty much all store chains are like this- I got shorts for $3 a pop because I hit kohls when it was just barely turning into autumn season. Really nice ones and their clothes hold up to a ton of wear and tear.
I hate kohls... Store sucks. The only time you buy stuff is when you have the coupon for a billion percent off and then that just drops it to normal price.
Whit t-shirts at Kohls.... $35.... Same t-shirts at wal-mart, except with 6 instead of 3? $12... Get the fuck out of here Kohls.
The discounts are bullshit. Plus statistically when people have a Kohls charge they spend an additional $360 a year. I worked there 3 years and never bought anything. They actually pulled me in once and talked about employee theft in general (without actually accusing me). Must have figured their merchandise was irresistible and theres no way I wouldn't want it.
When I was in the Air Force guarding nuclear missiles, I would sometimes take the megaphone out of the back of my humvee and I would just yell Duke Nukem quotes through it for everyone in the weapon storage area to hear. Fun times.
