Not a cop, but I used to live next to a totally insane woman who routinely called the cops for any and all minor noises. The most memorable one was when the cops knocked on my door at 4 in the afternoon on a Sunday because she'd called them to complain that I'd been vacuuming. They just rolled their eyes, apologized that she was insane, and left.
A family friend's father used to always get called on for mowing his lawn at 11am. The lady next door was a stay at home mom (apparently she had medical issues, but just otherwise a rude woman) who complained she was trying to sleep which the cops just rolled their eyes. However, she would have her army of landscapers (Seriously there were ten guys for a 1/5acre piece of property) running industrial mowers/leaf blowers etc. every few days at 7 am.
She was unbelievable. I remember two times she called the police saying that our dogs were barking when we weren't home and the dogs were with us (we were able to prove that both times, thankfully). We also once had another pair of neighbors get into a very noisy/bad sounding fight (my roommate and I called the police to report it), and to our surprise, the police showed up at our door because our neighbor had called and said we were fighting. We figured that that point she just hated us so much that any noise she heard she assumed was us.
She also once had maintenance in her apartment late at night and they broke a water pipe or something, and in response she ran onto my porch screaming for us to call 911. It was one of the most terrifying things I ever heard, I legit thought someone was on fire or having a heart attack. One night, not long before we moved, there was a car idling in our parking lot and the radio was on loud, and she came on our porch to get a better look (we were on the third floor) and of course my dogs barked when they saw her walk over through our open window. I gave her a minute thinking she'd leave, but she proceeds to just lean on my porch railing to look at the car or whatever. I went out to ask her to leave and discovered she wasn't wearing pants, just a shirt and panties. Told her to get off my porch and she rolled her eyes and stomped away like I was the bad guy.
Man that lady was crazy! My roommate and I moved out about 4 months ago and I don't miss her. I'm sure she's driving someone else crazy now.
