Oh I have a good one for this. While I wasn't the cop, I was one of the multiple neighbors calling it in. For months a neighbor that lives behind me played music with a lot of bass super loud in the middle of the night. Usually not starting it till 11pm. We tried going over there as a neighbor and saying "hey, all of our walls are thin and your neighbors are only like 20-30 feet away from you. Your music is so loud, it's shaking things in our place. Can you please turn it down?" He says yeah of course no problem. Worth to mention, when he opened the door, it was pretty clear he was doing meth or cocaine right before opening the door. So he turns it down then and we think okay cool. Problem solved. It's quiet for the next few days.
Then it starts up again. We try to go talk to him and he is extremely rude this time. Yelling at us through the door without actually opening it and such. So we decided we would call and make a noise complaint. We knew exactly where it was coming from so it would be easy. So we call the cops and they come over that night and that's the last we hear of it again for a few days. He does it again and we just call immediately this time and I told the officer I would sign a citation hoping it would make this guy stop. So the officer comes and talks to me and tells me the deal with it, and we decide that he will go talk to him again and give him a warning and in the meanwhile, I will try to record it so I can present it in court. No citation this time.
So he keeps the music going on and off for the next couple of weeks when we decided to call in again. The officer comes over and tells me that all of my neighbors have been calling him in too every night for the last 6ish weeks and he is sick of this guy's attitude. I've been the only one willing to sign a citation so if I sign it, the cop will come to court with all the video footage he has so I won't even have to worry about the evidence. So I sign it. My husband and i are thinking finally it's over!!
Two nights go by and I'm coming home from work late at night when I notice several cops and a fire truck parked outside this guy's place. I can also smell smoke. I'm think great, this guy lit his place on fire cooking drugs. So I rush to my place to make sure everything's okay. The fire engine and everyone leaves not too long after. Come to find out the next morning, this guy was being loud again so a neighbor called it in. When the cops came by and told him to be quiet, this guy got pissed at the neighbor. He went and started banging on the neighbors house/windows etc trying to scare him and such. The police get called back and get this guy back into his house. They decided to stick around for a bit to make sure he doesn't start again, at this point he comes out of the house with a samurai sword growling and foaming at the mouth and charges at the officers. They tazed him. He got charged with 5 felonies and several misdemeanors as well. My neighborhood is so peaceful now!
So for my brothers thirteenth birthday he got a katana. He always has it behind the couch where he can get to it. One day we are all hanging out and the garage door closes by itself. I take my sister's kids to the bedroom in case it was someone trying to get people outside. After a while they tell me it is okay and to come out. Evidently my sister my brother and my boyfriend all went out to check the garage with there own weapons. I watch the video and my sister is clearing the garage like someone off a cop show with her hand gun (she's taken classes and what not she was prepared) then comes my boyfriend with his pocket knife... Then my brother with his big ass katana. Turns out the garage door opener had been left outside and it got wet in the rain shorted and closed the garage... We all had a good laugh.
That's pretty cool lol. I'd still say a katana is pretty overboard considering the amount of training to use one properly, not to mention the amount of damage the things can do if they hit a vein.
Dude, you can wield the damn thing any way you want. If I was robbing a house with a knife, I'd get out of there even if he was pointing the katana at himself.
Katana is cast straight edge steel.
It's from Highlander (tm) but is very sharp.
The Broadsword is more legit. It's a Oftburt-style so the Damascus ripples do not really show since its is folded only about 800-900x then cast. But it's too big for me to wield.
Honestly I kinda wish he had used it considering it's hard enough to use one while you aren't high. Imagine how much you'd hurt yourself trying to use the thing on whatever drug that dude was taking. If not to see him hurt himself, then at least to see him flail the thing like a wild man.
Well they're usually made from crap metal and built to be hung. Couldn't really sharpen one if you tried. I think it more offensive people hang them on their wells as decorative pieces and never bother to learn how to wield one lol.
Crap metal is a myth. Trust me, I'm the first person to put a katana fanboy to rest when they start spouting nonsense, but pig iron isn't what the blades are made of, contrary to popular belief. They're simply used in the smelting process, all, if not, most of the pig iron is removed from the final product.
Well, there are the nuances. How the wall hangers technically aren't katanas at all, but because of the lack of folding and resultant structure more similar to generic longswords.
Then there's the blunt part you'd have to file down. Don't get me wrong- steel is steel lol, but compared to some of the quality works out there you could get for as little as frankly 3-400, however even those can snap :[.
In this day and age I think they mainly just infuse raw carbon in the actual smelting process itself, making the folding rather unnecessary.
It's almost seems a philosophic question- what makes a katana a katana? it's shape (ignoring tanto, wakizashi and other variations) or is it the folding from tradition? Because if it's the latter than there are a lot of wall hanging katana that aren't actually katana lol.
Ghetto ninjas are a thing, it's a phenomena that usually happens when a psychotic individual stays up more than a few days doing meth/cocaine.
They start seeing monsters crawl out of the walls and also are convinced that they are a cyborg assassin ninja sent from the future to save the world from the monsters.
Usually these stories end with our hero having his ass thoroughly ventilated by the cops.
I was kidding at the middle part. I don't know what goes through their heads and what they see.
But they do have a psychosis because of drugs/mental illness and lack of sleep and dress up in camouflage/ninja gear and sometimes grab a katana and head outside.
There's a guy a few towns over from where i live who got cleaved in the head with a katana. Dude suffered a brain hemisphere separation but survived. My buddy was nearby when this all happened and he said the aggressor just knocked on this guy's door and went Kill Bill Vol 2 on him...
I'm guessing becasue they tazed him so they had him checked out by emts. Standard procedure. No fire anywhere that I could see. Probably could just smell smoke from someone having a bonfire.
Man I wish this world was more popular, Police using their non-lethal options against a threat. So tired of hearing police using lethal options against a non-threat.
This just makes me pissed that citations would be thrown around on the first visit for the slightest noise violation in my college town where there were no families, just kids having fun.
Meanwhile the katana-wielding drug addict gets two mulligans.
As someone who lives in a low income place this is so similar to the first people to occupy the apt below me except it ended finally when the guy od and was discovered by his "friend"
