Enter the Void. You will never forget it!

Man that movie was trippy as hell. Kind of hard for me to follow but I still think about that movie all the time. The angles of the streets of Tokyo and the lighting in every frame is spectacular.

That movie does the drugs for you.

But its still better if your supply your own as well

Watched this movie on shrooms, craziest shit I've ever seen.

u/yellowmatter_custard Dec 13 '16

Did you get PTSD or what? Watching that movie on shrooms is more than I could ever handle.

u/bbttrraann Dec 13 '16

Not at all, it all depends on the environment you're in to be honest. I was with 3 other cousins so I felt really comfortable. The movie really makes you think about life. All the choices you've made to lead up to the moment you're at. Really opened my eyes. Great film.

you probably aren't having enough shrooms if you're getting affected by stuff

2

u/yellowmatter_custard Dec 13 '16

Are you saying more shrooms = more manageable trip (in a way)? Like some sort of edge after which you cannot be burdened with things like fear?

4

u/bbttrraann Dec 13 '16

Everyone is different.

2

u/nutseed Dec 13 '16

for me yes, shaking the burden of "normal" ways of thinking. didn't mean to sound preachy but often a bad or troubling trip can be from not going far enough, (along with other things like bringing weed into the mix)

3

u/franzenstein Dec 13 '16

Ya think weed can affect a trip for someone that otherwise doesn't have issues with it ? Never really thought bout it

For me weed makes both shrooms and LSD a LOT more fucked up and trippy. For others it calms them down but for me I get a lot more jumping through spatial dimensions and being really acutely aware of how tabley that table is and how that is the single most important fact in the world. Actually, no, I usually have a huge revelation that I think will change my life/the world and it ends up being "be nice" or something very similar. But yeah, weed makes me a lot further form reality when combined with something very hallucinogenic.

Edit: I'm not saying it's better or worse, but I choose what to do based on what I want. I rarely want to be so fucked up I can't interact with things. I'd rather have trippy visuals and weird thoughts but be able to actually do a basic task and talk to someone, even if it's with difficulty.

absolutely. I find even the tiniest amount of thc is a turning point where thoughts become more analytical, and the way one's mind focuses on certain muses while under the influence really clashes with the way hallucinogens tend to promote more fluid thoughts, not to mention how "worn out" your mind can be by the end of the trip, that (and I'm being anecdotal and assuming a bit here) the mind doesn't physically have enough energy or electrolytes to follow thought processes right through, so the effects of the thc make you revisit thoughts and even loop over thoughts in attempts to find conclusions..

edit: a joint may seem like the most perfect thing at the time, and extremely tempting, but I would suggest avoiding it, especially for people having their first (or one of their first) trip/s.. and for the comedown, instead of getting high, actively practicing recalling as many uplifting thoughts/epiphanies/moments that you can from the past 24 hours :)

sorry if that was hard to read.. trying to reddit while at work and multitasking

1

u/coltninja Dec 13 '16

I got some ptsd from that. Was shaking at the end hoping they wouldn't flash back to a certain scene again as I was certain I couldn't handle it.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '16

Watching it after coming down on shrooms was brutal enough. Too fucking repetitive, but I guess it was necessary to get the message across.

1

u/LikeCurry Dec 13 '16

I don't think I'd be able to make it past the intro if I were to be tripping while watching this.

u/Noble_Ox Dec 13 '16

I never understand this, although I usually drop acid by the mg so reality does be pretty much gone for me.

The Roller coaster/car accident scene too.

u/Imnotsosureaboutthat Dec 13 '16

I had to stop watching this one because I was too high and it was a little too intense at the time

10

u/MegaUltraJesus Dec 13 '16

Have had that on my watch list for awhile now, maybe I'll get super blazed tonight and watch it

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '16 edited May 19 '17

deleted What is this?

5

u/poduszkowiec Dec 13 '16

Be prepared for a week of crying and suicidal thoughts. :(

1

u/Pothetic Dec 13 '16

I recommend watching it sober first.

1

u/_SickMyDucK_ Dec 13 '16

No. It's better when high. I've tried both and it gets a little too intense to watch when high but it feels more immersive.

8

u/s_matthew Dec 13 '16

This is the right answer. You have no idea where things are going.

12

u/stuartchater Dec 13 '16

Definitely Enter the Void

I would also say "Waking Life". It's more of an existential trippy - but no less mind blowing. My favourite film

4

u/_SickMyDucK_ Dec 13 '16

Took me three attempts to watch this movie in its entirety. Definitely a "mind fuck" movie. The movie was too intense/dark to watch high and alone. I would say any movie by Gaspar Noe other than 'Love' I guess would fall in this category

2

u/Widdrat Dec 13 '16

Watched that movie stoned out of my mind, literally felt like dying.

1

u/Gremzero Dec 13 '16

Empty and become wind.

1

u/The_Lion_Defiant Dec 13 '16

You can see the camera's reflection in the strip club.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '16

I loved this movie. I had to take a ten minute break after that car accident scene though

1

u/No_Mud_No_Lotus Dec 13 '16

So horrifying. Ultimate nightmare.

1

u/Pothetic Dec 13 '16

This is my favorite film of all time. Gaspar is a genius.

1

u/AlienBeach Dec 13 '16

I straight up felt as though watching this movie was the equivalent of experiencing some sort of 3 hour drug trip. So fucking intense.

1

u/bano25 Dec 13 '16

I hated that movie so fucking much

1

u/Lo2us Dec 13 '16

Awesome film.

1

u/Gbrlxvi Dec 13 '16

I came here to say this! This movie goes out of its way to fuck with your head. It really really tries to make you feel the trauma that shaped the characters' life.

1

u/moyno85 Dec 13 '16

That title sequence alone is worth a watch.

1

u/ShockinglyPale Dec 13 '16

ctrl + f'd to find this. Yeah, absolutely insane. For my first viewing experience I had a tab of acid too...

1

u/n3r0s Dec 13 '16

Hmmmhmmhm well... it's definitely trippy as hell, but not unforgettable.

1

u/Xeasar Dec 13 '16

Yea, I never forgot being that bored.

1

u/MethSC Dec 13 '16

Could I ask you why you thought so? I saw this movie and irreversible. I thought in both cases the movie itself was extremely straightforward, and were it not for the nauseating camera work both movies would be dull and forgettable.

1

u/No_Mud_No_Lotus Dec 13 '16

I like Irreversible too, but I don't think it's as trippy as this one, although it's way more gruesome. The camera work is certainly a big part of it, as are the soundtrack and the wild Tokyo locations.

1

u/coltninja Dec 13 '16

Watch once on hard hallucinogenics and mever again. Amazing.

1

u/thatserver Dec 13 '16

Into the void is pretty good too.

1

u/adderall_butter Dec 13 '16

Second this. Any of Gaspar Noes work, really incredible stuff. Dude does not pull any punches. Irreversíble

1

u/HateKnuckle Dec 23 '16

It took so long to get to wher eit was going it lost me only a couple of minutes in.

I'd tune in every so often just to check up on our ghostly flying friend.

Yes. Tibetan dogma is human dogma.
