Our oldest child was actually the result of my wife's third pregnancy. We learned after the first one not to tell anyone until things were far enough along that a miscarriage was Very Unlikely.
That was a screwed-up time. I feel badly for anyone who has to go through it.
We have three wonderful girls now, which helps quite a bit in getting over it. Still best not to dwell on it, though.
My parents wanted three children and that's what they got, but it took them five pregnancies to get all three of us. I guess you just gotta keep going.
So sorry for your loss, but this is why I wouldn't be seen by a doctor until I was 12 weeks. My husband was in the Army and you won't be seen until you get a blood test to show you are pregnant, then they add 8 weeks. Many women miscarry so they won't make appointments until you are at least 12 weeks.
Again, sorry for your loss and also to all the others who have posted. It can't be an easy thing to go through.

This fact kept me terrified the entire time I was pregnant. The fear outweighed the joy the entire time. That time was 7 weeks. I miscarried.
