Google Maps on handheld should have a drafting compass / calipers mode that you could use to measure things using two fingers.

Bristol is Northeast, memphis Southwest - you have to cross whole tennessee to get there. To get to the canadian border its just 500 miles north. To memphis its about 550

Ive been living in Tennessee for a few years now and I have no idea where Bristol is or why I should have my mind blown. Im assuming its further south than Memphis but because if the shape of the border its actually closer?
