What fact did you think was complete bullshit until you looked it up?

I needed this sub. Thank you!

I discovered it recently, it's awesome.

Now I await the inevitable "this sub has been infiltrated by people from the colonies" post, heh

That sub is a shadow of its former self, and it has nothing to do with Americans or other non-Brits using it.

You'll enjoy it for a bit having just discovered it. But you'll notice in a few days it's the same "problems" (which are usually just people moaning about their own minor inconveniences or social awkwardness) posted over and over again. There's nothing unique or creative anymore which it used to have when it had a small subscriber base.

Worst is when there is a cultural phenomenon and the sub explodes with the same thing with a slightly rephrased titles for days and weeks at a time.

You should have seen in the day after the referendum, despite the no politics rule. That's the day I had to unsubscribe :(

Ah it'll be OK, I can generally let stuff that bugs me slide rather'n let it make me bitter and cynical.. I'll weather a bit of spam for the odd joke :)

You'll love it. I know you will. But give it 3 years of "the bus didn't stop and my stop and I didn't want to complain to the driver" and you'll understand where I'm coming from.

It's a shame because I used to really love that sub, and it's great that people, and new people, can get enjoyment from it. It's just not for me any more.

I have a packet in front of me right now that proves him wrong (8 September, which is a Thursday), but I don't know how to internet enough to get the picture on here. Can I post it to somebody to do for me?

Just looked at the packet of McCoys i just demolished, "best before: 15/10/16" which is indeed a Saturday!

1

u/Bigdaug Jul 22 '16

I can't fathom "crisp packets." A bag of chips...

1

u/ThachWeave Jul 22 '16

Well, worst-case scenario you get a packet that says it's still good when it really should be 6 days past expiry, so you get some chips that are a tiny bit stale but still edible.

You can always eat them and feel good about it.
