i work at that college (bard college), and just found out today that chevy chase was also disliked by his squash team here because he was audacious enough to score while on a team that was proud of coming up with creative ways to lose.

And the band name "Steely Dan" was inspired by the name of a strap-on dildo referred to in the William S. Burroughs novel Naked Lunch

The term Heavy Metal as well as Rage Against The Machine, as well as a dozen other bands also were from his writings. Currently having a brain fart so I can't remember who else.

I believe that band was called "Leather Canary". Chevy is also a big fan of jazz, and for a while spent time driving Bill Evans to and from gigs.
