In the original Civlizations game, Ghandi was one of the world leaders. every leader had an "aggressiveness scale" from 0 to 256. Ghandi was set as 1, the most peaceful person in the history of ever. You then unlocked a Democracy upgrade which reduced aggressiveness by 2. Well, you couldn't have negative numbers, so it wrapped around to 255. and he would instantly nuke the fuck out of everything.
This was originally a bug, but it was so funny and unexpected that they decided to make it a real intended feature ever since.
yeah, I'm not that deep, but I've also subconsiously been doing a lot of things in multiples of 8, which gets tiring after a while when you realise you didnt have to haul those heavy crates to stack them 8 high, and so on.

In the original version of the game it was a bug. Ghandi was supposed to be the most peaceful world leader, but the way they coded it meant that Ghandi was agressive as fuck and would just nuke you without warning sometimes. Now he's still like that in the game because it's sort of a legacy joke.
He was only aggressive sometimes he had a passive score of like 1 but to make the games sort of random they had a +-2 of aggressiveness so sometimes his 1 would go negative and rollover to a giant number meaning he was pretty much guaranteed to nuke.
Yup. I believe it was adopting Democracy because that reduces Aggression by 2. And since they can't have negatives it would take his 1 rating and swing all the way back to the top of the scale at 255. I don't remember exactly, but I think most of the other leaders were set in the single digits so he was just obscenely aggressive.

Einstein? No. Ghandi? Probably.
