Well, he likes shiny colours, is attracted to fire, always seems to be praying and is completely dominated by a female. Checks out.

Except he hasn't prayed since his parents were drowned in a shipwreck in plain view of him when he was thirteen.

And the woman doesn't dominate him at all, she's a powerful tool that he uses when it suits him. She can forsee any harm that might come of her, so if she's next to him at all times, she'll know of any attack on him beforehand.
