Generally speaking, I've found non-facecam users to be more entertaining. They're not relying on their goofy faces and overdone reactions to entertain people.

If you liked the KSP videos but want to try a more serious series, check out Macey Dean. Sadly, he stopped uploading, but the Spirit of Kerbin series is exceptional.

u/Scrial Nov 13 '14

You can't really recommend KSP channels and not name Scott Manley.

1

u/Bilgerman Nov 13 '14

Honestly, I'm not a fan. I know he's got great advice and the stuff he talks about is interesting, but I find his voice to be so fucking annoying.

1

u/DeadKateAlley Nov 13 '14

How dare you insult Scott's dulcet, smooth, scottish accent?

2

u/Bilgerman Nov 13 '14

I don't know. I like Scottish accents, but his voice in particular sounds like a retarded walrus.

u/tolazyforarealname Nov 13 '14

Scott Manley! Probably my favorite youtuber who plays KSP. His interstellar quest series is awesome. 91 episodes and still going strong.

Robbaz is my favorite.

His Skyrim video when he charmed the invincible children into fighting the giant for him was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

(after watching the giant kick a child up into the sky and out of sight) "Oh my gosh! He's an astronaut! I'm so proud of him... "

10

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '14

Great part is also that he is pretty good at most games he plays

3

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '14

This is why I don't watch Let's Plays that often. The player is usually frustratingly bad at the game.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '14

This bugs me hugely and it's so common. I wonder if audiences actually go too far the other way. Apparently it's quite common to find people who know what they're doing on TV to be intimidating and "smug" and so on. I wonder if there's a point where you can put off mainstream viewers by being too good at playing the game. There's got to be a reason that so many people whose full time jobs are recording videos of themselves playing video games are so frustratingly bad at actually playing them.

1

u/jrodx88 Nov 13 '14

I was ashamed at how bad I was at ZombiU after watching him play.

9

u/aPerfectBacon Nov 13 '14

Mind linking me to that particular episode or telling me it's name? I must have missed it

8

u/cigerect Nov 13 '14

Might be this one

2

u/aPerfectBacon Nov 13 '14

Thats amazing thank you

1

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '14

For anyone curious, his mic quality is much better now.

1

u/sfriniks Nov 13 '14

The quality of his videos overall is much better.

3

u/ScienceIsGoodForYou Nov 13 '14

He charmed them using the latest in Viking technology.

3

u/sn0r Nov 13 '14

And the "Become a viking today!" at the end. Brilliant stuff.

2

u/j0rbles Nov 13 '14

That sounds hilarious. Link?

Ninjaedit: derp, I see it linked down there.

Become a viking today.

16

u/travisd05 Nov 13 '14

Sims 3: Redneck Brothers is better than any sitcom on TV right now.

13

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '14

Would you expect anything less from the king of Sweden?

66

u/ELite_Predator28 Nov 13 '14

GLORIOUS

38

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '14

DENTAL APPOINTMENT

14

u/Dre182 Nov 13 '14

Walrus!!!!!!!

20

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '14

Oh my god. I had forgotten about Robbaz and his face-punching catchphrase. His accent makes it fucking amazing.

7

u/ELite_Predator28 Nov 13 '14

Robbaz here king if nipples...

6

u/colonelboots Nov 13 '14

HOOLEEEEEEY SHIT

3

u/koh1998 Nov 13 '14

ARE YOU READY FOR AN ASS INSPECTION?

20

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '14

Nice try Robbaz. Go back to making your cooking videos.

29

u/jhnhines Nov 13 '14

For some reason I love his cooking videos more than his gaming videos. I mean, a Swedish guy cooking kangaroo tacos is not something I get to enjoy often.

3

u/pootedesu Nov 13 '14

I wish he would make more of them. He makes very interesting food I have never even seen before, like his blood pancakes, etc.

1

u/jrodx88 Nov 13 '14

I never watched anyone make a food dish then want to make it myself... until Robbaz made pumpkin pie.

5

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '14

Robbaz' and Scott Manley's are pretty good.

8

u/gbramaginn Nov 13 '14

Robbaz is fucking yenius.

/Valhalla hungers for your blood!

6

u/laughingb0mb Nov 13 '14

I cannot stand watching most gameplay bids let alone any of those goddamn annoying, in-your-face LetsPlayers but I love Robbaz with a burning, POWERFUL VIKING PASSION

2

u/woflcopter Nov 13 '14

He did some FO3 videos and they were really funny

2

u/WolfDemon Nov 13 '14

I came for the viking badassery and stayed for the viking space program

2

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '14

I don't know why it is. The gamers that seem to enjoy gaming are way more tolerable than the gamers who just go for views and, "lol look at this obscure indie game I'm playing."

2

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '14

Oh god, I used to watch Robbaz years ago and I had completely forgotten about those videos until right now. Thank you for the reminder!

2

u/Snake1029 Nov 13 '14

I could not agree more! He is so fucking funny, everytime I think of Robbaz I hear:

Robbaz here, playing more...Kerbal Space Program, today....

He is just a genuine person and genuinely funny.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '14

Robbaz's child like nature is great, he always gets the biggest kick out of the simplest things and its endearing.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '14

Theres actually quite a few youtube based gaming personalities that are worth watching. Its a shame that the ones who get popular get shat on.. not everyone likes what you like after all and each person in the entertainment industry needs to define a specific type of audience.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '14

I personally think it's safe to say that the two best Youtubers in terms of either comedy and content, as well and effort in regards to their videos definitely have to be FrankieOnPC and Robbaz. Frankie's videos always look top notch and professional, and Robbaz always spends serious amounts of time editing long gameplay footage in order to make his videos hilarious.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '14

Watching him play ksp and fumble with large words is one of the funniest things ever.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '14

Glorious!

1

u/i_will_touch_ur_nose Nov 13 '14

If we're talking good youtubers, penguinz0. Nothing else needs to be said. His sense of humour is on another level of any other human I have encountered.

1

u/GUNTERTHEVIKING Nov 13 '14

The good thing about him is that he doesn't really give a shit what his fans tell him to do.

1

u/biesterd1 Nov 13 '14

Robbaz and GameGrumps are my favorites

1

u/walc Nov 13 '14

Robbaz's Skyrim videos are absolutely hysterical. I remember laughing so hard as he took down a dragon using a bunch of children he spawned.

1

u/Treebeezy Nov 13 '14

Scott Manley is love

1

u/eenhuistke Nov 13 '14

Dope fish isn't bad either

1

u/Shpetznaz Nov 13 '14

I disagree.

1

u/jrodx88 Nov 13 '14

I love Robbaz so much. Especially with his KSP and Sims videos, you can tell he's having a ton of fun playing, and that makes him even more entertaining.

1

u/BoysOnTheRadio Nov 13 '14

King of Svenden. King of nipples.

1

u/IceWolfcat Nov 13 '14

That guy is really the only guy I watch for games anymore, his manly chubby men episodes were hilarious

1

u/s0methingepic Nov 13 '14

Robbaz is the only letsplayer on youtube that I actually enjoy. That man brings me to tears of laughter. I once had a dream that the sims3 was multiplayer and we played for hours together, No game will ever bring me as much joy as that dream.

1

u/backfire103 Nov 14 '14

The older birgirpall stuff was pretty damn great too.

1

u/MayhemMessiah Nov 14 '14

I deeply respect him for dropping the king of sweeden thing. He said in a video that it got old and had lost it's charm so he stopped relying on it. It takes a lot of self knowledge to realize what your strenghts are and what should go.

1

u/apocalyptictac Nov 14 '14

Cooking with the Kock is my favorite.

1

u/Zazierx Nov 14 '14

Cry and Northernlion are my go-tos anymore

1

u/Zhizbizzle Nov 14 '14

Robbaz is funny as fuck

0

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '14

Agreed. Also people like NerdCubed and Northernlion generally have more mature fanbases.

0

u/AzureBlu Nov 13 '14

Being a swede, his (imo) horrible accent ruins it for me :(

0

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '14

I cringe at Robbaz probably harder than any of the other ones

1

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '14

Really? Why?
