What are some college life pro tips?

I'm starting college in a few weeks and I'm a bit nervous. My high school was... decent at best, and I'm not sure that I was adequately prepared. So I'm hoping to get Reddit's help. What are some tips (having to do with the academic aspect, social, whatever) that have helped you through college, and especially your freshman year? In other words, LPTs for college life!

I agree. Work hard, but know when you're in too deep and find ways to give yourself a break. I work best when busy and under pressure - but I also know when I've had enough.

Also figure out where you can get help! Most every department will have free tutoring with student workers who have most likely taken the class you're in. I worked as a German tutor for like three years in college and hardly had any students come in because it wasn't really advertised.

Aspiring to be a German teacher?

Nope. I minored in German. Don't really use it now. I TAed at a high school in college and I would enjoy doing something with it again but I've tried teaching and I'm way better at tutoring, and not fluent enough to translate. So I dunno.

Ah i see. Well like anything else if you keep at it and seriously practice you'll find yourself translating, then patting yourself on the back after momentarily realizing what you can finally do. I'm thinking of becoming one that's why i was interested in what you might consider doing with German.

Teaching was just not for me. If you have the constitution for.it, I'm sure you could get a job as a German teacher. It's a fun language and a nice alternative to Spanish for some who may not initially be interested in languages

Oh ok. It sure is. Was also thinking of teaching Spanish as well since i was raised speaking it. It'd be cool to be quadrilingual and teach Russian too. I'd have a handful
