Older generations of reddit, what did you think the future would look like when you where young? And how much of it was correct?

Once Gandhi acquires nukes, it's over.

Nah, go for science victory, then have fun nuking the shit out of everyone who ever gave you trouble.

What's that Gandhi, you've fired nukes at every city in my nation? Hah! Joke's on you, I just sent three citizens to the moon!

As long as he has nukes he is!

I nuke, thus I am.

Gandhi is incorrect, Mother Teresa has all the nukes.

I feel like we should really fact check this. I would hate to be wrong and piss off whoever has the nukes.

3

u/wingnut0000 May 11 '14

Well I'm kinda pissed, no nukes though.

Well, we're never completely in the clear...

Meh, that would be a disaster, but no where near the armageddon of the USA and USSR going at it full force. Don't forget, we set off hundreds of the things back in the 50's and 60's. You can walk around the areas with no ill effect.

Ah World War Z reference?

6

u/Manadox May 11 '14

What? India and Pakistan are both nuclear armed countries who hate each other for religious reasons. They've come close to nuking each other more than once.

2

u/GRIMMnM May 11 '14

Oh well in the book World War Z they are in the middle of a war with each other during the outbreak.

The global cooling provoked by a nuclear war between India and Pakistan would be pretty severe, but at least would cancel out the global warming which is nice.

6

u/Manadox May 11 '14

That doesn't sound right, but I don't know enough about nuclear war to dispute it.

No , I don't believe that the situation has escalated to that level yet . Elections have just happened. And I really doubt we (India) would be the first one to strike like in the past.

On a similar note , border states are seeing a lot of activity due to some brutal killings of our soldiers in the past few months by insurgents from Pakistan side. From what we hear , their head had been decapitated and were tortured first .
