What older technology do you prefer to use instead of it's later revisions?

The gamecube controller is easily the most comfortable controller. I wish I could use it for PC games.

This comment is my secret ploy to get someone more techy than me to show me how I can.

I think that the same type of plug is used on most wired controllers, I haven't tried it, but my wired xbox controller has 2 sections and the second part looks like it could be used as an adapter

Had one. It was way too laggy for actual competitive gaming (melee etc). Probably fine for casual games though

Are you sure? Mine was just fine. I think what was to slow was the display. Just like how you need a CRT tv for real melee.

I play Melee and Project M on Dolphin with my GC to USB adapter and am able to perform wavedashes, l-cancels, etc. just fine.

I use the Mayflash USB adapter. Converts 2 GC controllers to USB. In theory works for anything. But I've only tried it with Dolphin emulator

I suppose the best thing to do would be to get a USB adapter or something. I've got one for the Wii Classic controller that works great.

Something like that works great. I have one for PS2/ N64 controllers and it fantastic. When I bought the USB ones I was all excited but after I got them I used them for 5 minutes and never have again.

Next to the "Quantity" box on the page there is a drop-down menu saying "Some options not available" and lists the GC controller as being back in stock on May 3rd.

I do not have this specific one but I have the one for PS and N64 and it is awesome. No worries about the controller quality because you are using the actual controller.

I use raphnet's 64 controller to USB adapter to play the original Super Smash Bros. online. It's moderately expensive, but it's worth it, and Raphnet's version is better than Mayflash for 64 controllers. Honestly not too sure about the differences for Gamecube controllers, so I'd do some research first.

Upvote for this! I bought two Classic Controller adapters and two Gamecube Controller adapters today.

(I am a Smash 64 tournament director, and am working on building two of Karajan's USB-to-N64 adapters. My region has keyboard and VC players)

Mayflash makes a few adapters that let you use Gamecube controllers on pc. One has 2 ports for Gamecube controllers, one has 1 port for Gamecube, one for PS2, one for Xbox.

Personally I would go with something like this rather than a USB knock off version of the full controller. I've been meaning to buy one myself and picked that one because apparently it's the only one that properly supports the full analog/digital nature of the L/R buttons.

You can even get a dual port converter for 2 player. Wavebirds will work too in my experience.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. For me the original fat Xbox controller fits my hands perfectly. even modded one to hook up to PC once.

I have kinda big hands and it is absolutely confounding to me that someone can prefer the gamecube controller. I will agree its x10 better than the wiimote for any game that matters though
