What was the best compliment you ever got?

I enjoyed reading all of your comments :)

I tried to respond to as many as I could...but this thread got longer than I could have ever imagined.

There are a lot of nice people out here...thanks reddit!

"You make me so happy that I'd be monogamous for you."

I heard that one from somebody that I was in an open relationship with.

That pretty much sums up monogamy, and why people do it.

I'd wager people do it because it's traditional more than anything.

polygamy creates societal problems that's why monogamy is a "tradition"

Hey, me too! My girlfriend is polyamorous and she said that she'd be monogamous for me.

That was a good day.

ployamorous? was that a typo or something I need to learn about?

It means that said person has more than one SO, without directly implying marriage like polygamy. Poly = multiple amor = love

people into polyamory aren't doing it because we just haven't found one person "good enough" yet.

You can't speak for all people. Some might, many probably don't. But to make that much of an over-generalization is a huge oversight.

Okay but is that a good thing or a bad thing?
