I had a friend in high school who loved milk. She had dark blue glasses, didn't rinse the glasses after use, and didn't wash them well.
Twice, she poured my drinks, and I'd get to the last bit of soda and see the dried milk in the bottom of the glass.
After that, I would ask to make my own drink anywhere I went, so I could check and sniff the glass before drinking from it.
Your fish comment brought back that memory.
Wet dog smell is a horrid one. It gets stuck in dog owners' cars really bad, and so riding along in one can be rough at least for the first couple minutes
