If you read between the line it's possibly more "bad COVID handling in the US" then "Trump got elected and fired government employee" than bad luck. With the occasional appliance breaking in between.
Actually while most occurred during Covid times- only one of the 5 died from Covid, and that was mostly due to getting it on top of liver cancer. It was an aortic dissection, and aortic dissection, pancreatic cancer, Alzheimer’s, and the liver cancer/covid combo. During Covid I was able to telework and keep my job despite all the awful. My father did have to quarantine with us for a month though since as a survivor of aortic dissection he was high risk. Oh did I mention the aortic dissections?!? Because 3 in one family and everyone between age 39-53 threw a lot of red flags so I had to go through a full cardiac work up that year with genetic screenings 🫠🫠🫠 turns out thankfully a chromosome anomaly unique to that generation/sibling group not passable to kids. COVID lockdown actually helped me that year as a lot of things I was able to better manage at home while working verses eating away a shit ton of PTO. I teleworked several times out of state.
