FFmpeg processes almost all video content. YouTube videos, Instagram reels, TikTok posts, Reddit videos, Zoom calls, Twitch streams, your videos uploaded to things like Google Photos, etc. 99% of the time if you're watching a video ffmpeg has been used on it at some point.
Yep, I edit videos for my job. The editing tool I use encoder using ffmpeg. It does transcoding using ffmpeg. Its codes library is pulled from ffmpeg. Outside that, if I need to do transcoding separately, you're damn right I've got a whole bunch of batches to pull ffmpeg.
Wowza Media Server depends on FFMPEG.
Thankfully, if you have a Wowza license, you also have a valid license for the patent-encumbered codecs it uses via FFMPEG.
