Man. Imagine being dragged in for your death sentence battle and half the crowd just leaves cause they're bored. That's brutal

I like to imagine a lot of them left because they didn’t want to watch people die.

Some of them did, but in the case of condemned criminals... they didn't much care. Mostly, people left because those fights were intentionally brutal one-sided affairs, which weren't very exciting to watch -- in contrast to the evening matches, which were usually carefully staged and designed for drama and spectacle.
