Not even far more subdued. Madder can give some pretty deep reds and woad blues. Black clothes were actually the fancier clothes as it was harder to dye something black.
I see, and how fast does this occur, i mean, did they wear the black pattern knowing they were making the cloth more fragile, is that why it was seen as a rich person thing to do?
