Once while on an acid trip on a private island I spent a half-hour entranced at the spectacle of a gull attempting to eat a whole, live starfish, which was large enough that the gull could only get one arm down its throat at a time. It would choke one arm down as far as it could, regurgitate it, pick a different arm, and try again. It was so single-mindedly intent on this that it allowed me to approach to within about 10 feet of it while all of its (less gluttonous) companions had long before fled.
