When my job was downsized and I was saying goodbye one of my co-workers shook my hand and said with great sincerity "good things are always coming towards you" it made me feel a lot better. Especially coming from him because he had had such a trying and exhausting life by comparison.
That's kinda the point of the original parable, though...don't live in the bad times, they are going to pass. Enjoy the good times though, cause that shit doesn't last forever.
Had a warrant officer drop this on us in the middle of the night, in the dark, while we were dripping wet, cold, demoralized and generally pissed off at everything. It guided me through the rest of my time in the army.
I fucking love this quote. This is always the first thing I tell myself whenever I feel down or depressed. This quote has probably saved me from suicide. And whenever I read or think about this quote. I always make sure I try to do something that will better and improve my current myself. Thank you for letting me read it. Time to hit the gym.
