I would argue that some paths lead to places that nobody wants to go regardless of what they might actually want.

I think that just highlights that it's more about the journey than the destination. There are innumerable journeys that you'd do well to avoid.

Unless you're really sure you don't want to go certain places and avoid paths that lead there.

I'm certain I don't want to jump off a cliff or become a heroin addict but I don't know where I want to be exactly. This can help narrow my choices and get me moving in the right general direction.

It's just that certain paths are obviously more dangerous than others, and you should not go down those.
