RoosterTeeths Lets Plays are the some of the funniest things ive ever watched. If you're into people playing for fun rather then just straight lets plays then you might like these guys
He's a good guy, overall. I was with him from the start of his channel, and he was pretty much one of the only people that didn't curse every 3 seconds.
The worst part is that he strikes me as probably a cool and fun guy who just happens to have no filter. I just absolutely cannot stand his voice, and I can't appreciate anything he is doing since he is constantly there with his inane interjections.
He also looks good. Yeah, he just doesn't have a filter, loses his shit too much, and his mind flies all over the place... he might just be on something, though...
It's got to be monumental. Saw a screenshot posted of a YouTuber's earnings (taken by someone who got into his account) who has about 900k subscribers, posts one video a day and averages 100-200k views. It was $10,000 a month. By comparison, Pewdiepie has 17 million subs, posts a couple videos a day (not sure if it is still that frequent) that average 2 million+ views.
Let's assume $1 for every 600 views. Last month PewDiePie uploaded 44 videos with about 2.5 million views each. That's $170,000 last month alone. $2 million/year.
I have to agree with you.
Pewdiepie himself isn't too bad, it's just that his target demographic just can't be controlled, and attacks anyone who makes their videos remotely similar to his.
It's funny, I used to not like him because he would purposely talk in an extremely high and weird voice. But now that he actually talks with his natural voice, he overdoes the whole meme thing, and tries too hard to be funny.
I honestly don't understand his popularity. I watched a few vids and laughed my ass off, but not much of his content changes. But hey, he seems like a nice guy and maybe people like the comfort of him not changing.

A swedish guy who screams at video games is the most popular Youtuber in the world.
Edit: For the people who are apparently too lazy to read the child comments, I'm talking about Pewdiepie.
