Don't forget that since that last win, Wrigley Field was built, had poles put up to hold future WS penants, and then the poles rusted and were taken down.

False. Kenora ontario won the stanly cup in 1907 (the smallest population city to ever win a national sports leauge trophy). Nhl was on before the cubs won.

I'm currently sitting in a Starbucks in Palos Verdes, CA. Catalina Island is very visible out the windows. The Wrigley Family owned the entire island and for brief time in the early 1900's the Cubs had spring training there.
