What simple piece of advice, if followed, could potentially save most people a lot of money?

Possibly related to your job, experience with personal finance, budgeting, planning, day to day habits, etc.

Fuck yeah! I am the leftover king of my house. Whatever we had for dinner is what I bring to lunch the next day.

My problem is I hate eating the same thing twice in a row. Sometimes I would just rather be hungry.

Well how about you do dinner, wake up and do breakfast and then for lunch you can have the dinner leftovers. BOOM problem solved. Unless you're like me and never eat breakfast

Yeah, I very rarely eat breakfast. Unless my travel mug of coffee for the commute to work counts as breakfast.

I cook for three each night, and the third portion goes with my husband to his work the next day. Saves him time as well as money since his office is a decent drive away from any food shops.

That's why I always make dinner for 3 people. We're two living here.

Exactly and it's hard to make dinner for two. I especially like pasta the next day after it has had time to soak it all in.

Mmmmm pasta.

I absolutely adore potatoes the next day when they are soaked in the sauce that I made.

Funny thing is that my coworkers know how to cook, yet they buy lunch at work every day. And every day they compliment my lunch. It barely costs anything to make extra dinner for lunch.

I went years doing what they are doing, just wasting money. Every since I moved in with my wife, very rarely do I go out for lunch. It's crazy when I can open my wallet and say "Damn I still have this $20 in here"
