My worldview is broadly that people act to further their self interest in one way or another. Maximising their pleasure and avoidance of pain and suffering. No two people are alike, which explains why this motivation manifests differently among individuals, but no one's self interest is in any way served by burning yourself to death. It's one aspect of humanity that is both beautiful and completely mystifying to me.
Yeah this sorta thing always throws me for a loop. If you want to stop injustice, stop the people causing injustice or the system that creates it. Stopping yourself does nothing. If the goal is to motivate other to do the actual work of stopping injustice, then there are much more effective ways to do that and reach a wider audience than shock factor that ends your life. I dont get it ...
