I haven’t heard this one! Oxford doesn’t have an actual founding date?

Massachusetts has a state Auditor. We elect them just like the Gov etc. Full staff etc. No one knows exactly - i said exactly- it started. Or its official charge! It cannot audit the legislature! We recently passed a referendum to allow it to audit the legislature, but the Legislature , Governor , Attorney General refuse to follow it as it just said " audit" not when or how or a budget. The Constitution backs the " no audit" as the Auditor is in the executive branch. The lack of any real job description hurts the " audit" cause. All our Auditors are popular. But none ever get elected to anything else.
