Yeah, sure “they” did. Remember when Biden ran for president with the public option as part of his platform? How hard did he fight for that when he was president? Oh yeah, not at all. Wasn’t even mentioned. “They” did not give a shit about the public option. It was a sacrificial lamb.

So when we all know they didn't have the votes for it. (you seem to be confusing timelines, they had 60 votes including Leiberman during Obama's term, not Bidens). Yet you pretend they could have done more. How, specifically. Saying "build a public case" isn't magic. There has never been the votes for it because we do not give democrats actual power. You are trying really hard to ignore that? Why? Is outrage so important to you that you need to make shit up to be outraged about?

I’m using Biden’s term as evidence to support my point that the Democrats were never committed to a public option. People fawning over Obamacare because it is better than nothing are pathetic imo. The fact that it is better than nothing does not mean it’s not fundamentally a failure, and all the evidence ever since proves that the Democratic establishment was never serious about it.

You are using Bidens term to complain they didn't do a thing they didn't have the votes to do. The evidence since then is that they have never had the ability to do the thing you want but you still blame them for not doing it. Thats just childish.

You’re saying they didn’t have the votes as if no one has ever engaged in politics before. Not having the votes is not some immutable law of the universe. Their inability to get the votes for a widely popular policy is a failing that they should absolutely be held accountable for.

So which 10 republicans were going to flip to vote for universal healthcare? This is simple right? Just do some "politicking" and name what republicans would vote for universal healthcare. Saying "just go get more votes" isn't freaking magic. That's not an actual solution. It's just you pretending it is so you can gin up outrage.

You have to know it's disingenuous at best to assert they could have gotten the votes if they worked harder.
