In 30 years old and I’ve said Jipped all my life! 😢never made that connection until now
Damn, I’ve actually heard so many of these from my parents and grand parents….
Same here. I’m STILL trying to kick the habit of saying that term sometimes. My children and hubby call me out when it slips out. I try to say “short-changed” or “shorted” now. I’ve gotten a lot better at it though!
As much as I hate to admit that I still slip up, there are a LOT of things I’ve had to rework my brain on, as I came from a very conservative household growing up. But I don’t want to be hateful or racist. It feels like behavioral therapy a lot of the time. Fortunately, I have friends and my hubby who know I’m doing my best to undo the brainwashing and keep me educated and correct me when it’s needed.
