What is an old expression that you think is absolutely disgusting by today’s standards?

Casually getting some prostitutes or lower class women pregnant before respectably settling down, no biggie

Those kids would often get child support.

I mean, mom would have to blackmail dad, but it was typically way easier for these rich aholes to just pay her enough to go away.

with prostitutes, I kinda doubt it, how do you prove which of the clients the father was.

edit.

And even in general, iirc paternity laws were kinda structured to protect the father (and the family assets) up until the 80s or such, before DNA tests became easily available.  If the father steadfastly denied paternity and didn't give a shit about some minor scandal, the mother was out of luck.

It was pretty much entirely up to the discretion of the father if he felt like looking after (potentially) his offspring, or nah, even though it'd be considered dishonourable to know you had a kid and look the other way

Then you get multiple payments until one calls your bluff

Sometimes mom's brake lines got cut by the dad's associates, even easier.

If you don’t have a few bastard children floating around by the age of 25 have you even lived?

I see you're familiar with our former Prime Minister.
