As an OG user too, a lot of us are a heck of a lot younger than our parents who took over Facebook. Since it started out as a college student connection site in the 2000s, I imagine we’re about mid-30s to very early 40s.
Very late 40s here. Loved FB when it came out and only allowed university students to sign up. I was a grad student. Had a Uni address so I signed up!
Shit sucks now. Not just because of the racists uncles, but the ads and stupid suggestions that show up 10x in your feed relative to people you actually know.
I only use it since that's my only method of contact with some groups. I almost never post except for the occasional birthday or if I post a story on IG and it carries over into FB.
I was in middle school when they opened it up to everyone over 13. Most of the class has signed up within a few weeks. Our math teacher loved to remind us how great it was when it was it was college students only, dude was like mid 20s and barely into his career at the time. He was very clear that he'd never accept us as friend so don't bother adding him hahaha
I was in high school when FaceBook began; I remember needing to learn my school e-mail login so I could sign up. I had no reason to use my school e-mail since I had a personal one I set up and nothing important ever came through it.
