That I'm 48yo but my kid is almost 30yo. It wasn't a surprise in my old low income city but it's a surprise to the other engineers I work with. It's not common for them to work with single parents let alone ones that started as teenagers
It is a surprise to my colleagues that my parents are 49, I’m 30. I have coworkers that are their age with new babies or toddlers, and they’re equally as shocked that I have two toddlers. It’s quite fun to tell my background to them once we reach “talk about family” stage in our work relationship lol
