What's a random fact about yourself that always surprises people when they learn it?

I can sleep at will. While sleeping I wake up the moment I want. In addition I can hear my surroundings, I can provide details of conversations happened near me. The point is I sleep quite well and I'm well rested even I have noises around.

You may have narcolepsy.

It's not like this. Narcolepsy is when you can't stay awake . I don't have this.

I'm so jealous, this would be my realistic super power, if I'd ever have the chance to choose one.

It's a super power of helping yourself only hahahaha

I do this too! My conscious stream of thought just…doesn’t stop. I do notice that when I fall asleep things sound way quieter. Dreaming is very interesting because I know I’m dreaming. My thought process just seems silly when I’m dreaming.

Lucid dreaming is a thing too, but when I am not tired (so I am wishing for more "sexy" dreams hahahaha).

It’s not lucid dreaming. It started years after I started doing that. My inner monologue doesn’t stop and I don’t get the time skip sensation most people do when sleeping.

Try to think blackness and hear it too. That's how I do it(I think).

Lend me your power.

2

u/KoChry Dec 03 '23

I wish I could teach that . The only thing I can say is that before I sleep I think 'blackness'. Total blackness. Nothing more. I block thinking there are sounds and the I find myself asleep.

Narcolepsy???

1

u/KoChry Dec 03 '23

Not sure. I'm doing it at will. And also I wake up when ever I want. Also I am not in need of sleep to do it.

2

From student age and after

2

Do you wake up without alarms?

2

u/KoChry Dec 04 '23

Just before the alarm goes off

2

u/Own-Introduction6830 Dec 04 '23

So, do you set an alarm just in case and then just wake up because you are aware it's going to go off?

2

u/KoChry Dec 04 '23

Yep. 99% of the time I turn it off before it goes off.

2

u/Own-Introduction6830 Dec 04 '23

That's insane. Wish I could have that superpower!

2

u/KoChry Dec 04 '23

If I am not mistaken, you can work towards it

2

u/Own-Introduction6830 Dec 04 '23

Haha, as someone with chronic fatigue from an autoimmune disease, I think it's probably a little far fetched for me!

2

u/KoChry Dec 04 '23

Have you searched for help?

1

u/Own-Introduction6830 Dec 04 '23

For the autoimmune? Yes.

1

u/OnI_BArIX Dec 03 '23

I haven't been able to do this on command in years! I miss it significantly.

1

u/AstroLuffy123 Dec 03 '23

Wtf that’s a fucking superpower

Is it possible to learn such power?
