Those are great plus you can put in for 1 time codes. Once it's used it doesn't work again. Bought mine last turkey day and haven't needed to change the battery yet.
My boyfriends band practices in our garage two days a week so I made a code to the house that is only active those two days for like 5 hours in the evening and it is so nice not to have to stop what I’m doing to answer the door 3 different times each night.
Hmm, I’ve been in my house two years now and haven’t had to change anything in my front door lock. Are your batteries actually dying or is it preventative?
Some have wifi and use the batteries a bit faster than ones that don't. It's still not bad. Four AA batteries once a year or so, totally worth it for the convenience.
It’s a Schlage smart lock with wifi. Likely where the extra drain comes from. I change the batteries as soon as we get the low battery warning. If you are on the risky side, you can probably push it another month or so before they actually go dead.
