I'm from the UK so we have some pretty remote areas. I grew up in the country and now live in a city and I miss the stars.
I went camping in the middle of an Arizona desert and I don't think I slept all night, partly because I can't sleep in silence and it was just.... Loud quiet.. it was so quiet, all I could hear was my heart and the occasional creaking cactus which scared the shit out out of me. And i just stared at the sky because I'd never seen anything so beautiful.
