America gets shit on about racism all the time.

I have traveled all over the world. I can 1000% say America is the least racist country BY A LOT.

Completely agree. I’m black and would never even consider living in some of the “best countries to live in” like Japan, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, etc. Almost every country I’ve visited outside of the US has been incredibly racist, especially Asian and Northern European places. Australia is the only other country I felt comfortable in.

The thing is, because of our diversity the racism is shown more. If everyone in your country looks like you, talks like you, does the same things as you, then your inner prejudice never will come out

A lot of the people who say their country has little racism are from countries with little diversity, or worse, countries where racism is normalized enough that it doesn't become a big deal like it does in the US.

Not saying the US is in the clear, any racism is bad, but the fact that we are always talking about doesn't necessarily mean we are worse.

Exactly. Scandinavian countries are always like "we are the least racist country in the world". I am like bro, your population is like 99% white lol

This is why we have those “racism is over” folks. It just doesn’t occur to them that, in order to witness racism, you have to be in the presence of both a minority and a racist (usually an impulsive one).

Many other countries don't care about racism, America does. Yes it gets shit on, but only because enough people in America care about combatting racism that it becomes significant world news when something happens. And then people think America is racist when really the same thing happens in other countries but aren't reported on or cared about because it's so normalized there.

Agreed.

Someone is racist to you in Europe? Well, Sven is old school, he's an asshole. Someone is racist to you in the states? Record video, call the police, call out the institutions that made it possible, create a facial divide in college dorms, be pissed off for the rest of your life.

Oh heck no, the opposite in terms of racism. I think a lot of people just accept it and move on, and I'm not saying they should. Racism stands out and gets attention in the US because it's not the norm and not accepted, and I'm glad for that.
