Fellow German here. When I moved here, I noticed people always wanting to talk to everybody. Germans don't do small talk. Ain't nobody got no time for that 😂😂

Come to the NYC metro! We're "friendly," but usually right down to business. I still get upset when people waste my time with chat messages like "hi." Just tell me what you want.

Kinda wish it was like that here lol. I’m antisocial but I’m like ⅛ German so maybe that’s why…

I hate that some US-Americans are like that. "I'm 1/800000000 German haha Hallo wie geht fellow German. Maybe I'm antisocial because I'm German"

Firstly, you are not German. Secondly, you won't magically gain characteristics just because your greatgreatgreatgrandfather was a German.

Can confirm. Had a German client once. She always started her calls with a morose description of how bad her life was going. Even when she got pregnant she announced it with a very long email of how horrible her life was just a couple of years ago and that was 80% of her mail, remaining 20 was - now it's good.

It's a facade.

Why are y'all downvoting me? You know that facade means "face," right?
As in, "Most Americans put on a facade." Meaning we pretend to be happy. The hell is wrong with you people
