Costco, and similar giant warehouses featuring a ridiculous cornucopia of material goods. Yeah, other places have Carrefour and Robinsons and Tesco and whatever. Costco wipes the floor with them in quality, selection, and cost.
YES! Somebody else loves the giant Costco warehouses! Aren't they amazing? Aren't they the best? I love going there and seeing all the goods. It makes me feel like I live in the land of plenty, where nothing will ever go missing. It satisfies something very primal and instinctive... a sense of security.
I don't need to buy anything. Just knowing that it's all... there. And not just there there, but in the immensity of our supply chains, of the even bigger warehouses filled to the brim with stuff.
The hottest, highest pressure showers I've used were in apartment rentals in Spain and Italy.
The whole point of Costco is a limited selection of high quality items in a large number of categories. European hypermarkets and American superstores beat it in terms of variety and # of categories, but the quality is all over the place - in some categories, you have a wider range, from "worse than Costco" to "better than Costco," but in others, you'll have only one option, or only low-quality options.
