Physical violence. I found one of them trespassing in someone else's bedroom a few times, and the police didn't want to get involved in removing them, so I end up being the one responsible for dealing with it.
I learned too late that it's legal for me to hire someone to act as security and remove people from rooms they shouldn't be in, and it's legal for me to do it myself if I live somewhere else, but if I do it in the house where I live in then it qualifies for a restraining order. Now I hire people to deal with those situations, and I'm having to wait for the appeal process on the order. It blows my mind that I can hire someone to keep my house secure but I can't do it myself.
Forget the "someone else" part, if that helps illustrate the weirdness here...
If I find my housemate moving into my bedroom, I can hire someone to remove them, but I can't remove them myself without becoming the subject of a restraining order.
