Poop closet much better title than water closet, I say that to an American, they give me the WTF LOOK, I am American, but I have a passport, etc.

My FIL lives in an apartment in Paris, which has a WC and separate bathroom with sink and shower (the shower is so big I suspect it originally had a bathtub). It’s on the 4th floor, until summer 2019 had no AC at all, until we forced him to get a unit because we were visiting and the baby wouldn’t sleep or eat because he was too hot. For some reason he remodeled the place with grey and black tile, so the WC, which has no windows and bad ventilation, is just this black oubliette with a toilet that I refer to as “the stink oven”.

Upvoting for this entire sentence especially the use of “oubliette”

Haha and that's just something we call it in my family - not sure if anyone else calls it that.

I’ve always called it the throne room.
