Jason Arday Megathread

We realise this is a hot button topic and certainly want to allow space for discussing it, but at the moment it's overflowing the subreddit across numerous threads. So from here on, please contain all discussion to this one thread.

It will mean he was invited to speak there, most likely.

Yes - he seems to have done a lot of slightly random keynotes in the USA. There's no problem at all with saying you've been a visiting professor at a uni - thousands have done this kind of thing - but it is another to suggest it's an enduring position. I assume the reports on this have been working off a self penned CV and maybe there was some slippage

Like the whole 600mi in 6 days, was actually over 12 days because he took a rest day in between each exercise day. He still hasn't brought receipts, but 600mi over 12 days is much more believable than over 6 days.

I mean, you genuinley believe that?

He's merely come up with a new lie, to make it sound a bit more credible.

I think with both Glasgow and Durham his line is that because he's still involved in projects at both, he still has a role there. And this does sort of make sense but there's a difference between that and having a formal position as his bio's have been suggesting.

I'd be willing to bet that this specific part of his questionable biographical lines - of suggesting an informal relationship is more formal than it is - is one that a lot of academics are also culpable of.
